The Kohl Mountain Apple Juice Sonnenglanz is the newest, wonderfully aromatic, single-varietal apple juice from Thomas Kohl in South Tyrol. Finally! The wait wasn't easy, but now it's here: Welcome SONNENGLANZ, to the illustrious circle of our apple juice personalities!

Its name is like a promise that the juice can keep. Radiant yellow, like the apple, the Sonnenglanz variety is a sunny greeting directly from the South Tyrolean sky. With fine citrus aromas and a hint of pine, the juice elegantly balances the interplay of fruitiness and refreshing acidity. Full-bodied and balanced. The lightly straw-yellow Kohl Mountain Apple Juice is comparable in sweetness to the Gravensteiner and slightly less sweet than the Rubinette.

The single-varietal Kohl Mountain Apple Juice Sonnenglanz pairs well with light appetizers, fresh salads, fish and white meat, as well as mild cheese. It likes light dishes, spicy, salty, sour, but preferably not sharp or sweet. We recommend pouring Kohl Mountain Apple Juice Sonnenglanz into a stemmed glass so that, like with wine, the aromas can best develop. This is best achieved at a cool drinking temperature of 8 - 12°C.

Sonnenglanz – a Bavarian in South Tyrol

Sonnenglanz is a relatively new apple variety bred by Dr. Michael Neumüller, who conducts research at the Bavarian Fruit Centre Hallbergmoos. It is a cross between Pinova and Topaz. With hardly any russeting, the medium-sized apples shine sun-yellow on the tree. Only when the skin is uniformly lemon-yellow, with only a greenish tint in the calyx cavity, should it be picked, because that is when it is most aromatic. The creamy-white flesh is firm and crisp, the taste aromatic and fresh. The Kohl Mountain Apple Juice Sonnenglanz is, in the truest sense of the word, a real treat.
