Organic Pinot Blanc – Estate Wine from Weingut Karl May
The Karl May Pinot Blanc 2025, an organic estate wine from the Karl May winery in Osthofen, is characterized by the aroma of ripe quince, sweet almonds, and exotic pineapple. A true all-rounder: dry, with a medium body, good acidity balance, and a moderate alcohol content.
The Karl May Pinot Blanc pairs perfectly with a wide variety of dishes and is simply enjoyable. Its delicate aromas make it ideal for German and international cuisine. We enjoy this smooth Pinot Blanc well chilled at 8–10 degrees Celsius.
Winemaking – Karl May
The grapevines for this Pinot Blanc estate wine from Weingut Karl May grow in organically cultivated vineyards in various locations with sandy loess-loam soils. To harvest ripe grapes in autumn, Fritz and Peter May begin in January with gentle pruning and early defoliation of the grape zone for optimal sun exposure, as well as yield reduction through green harvesting.
Selective hand harvesting of the grapes often takes place in several passes. The path to the new winery is short, where the grapes are gently processed. The mash is gently pressed, and the must is spontaneously fermented, remaining on the lees for a long time and aged in stainless steel tanks.
