Manufaktur Jörg Geiger 32° Grad Riesling Apple Herbs is a non-alcoholic food companion made from dealcoholized Riesling wine refined with apple juice and herbs.

The combination of dealcoholized Riesling with apple, grape and pear juice creates a bouquet dominated by white fragrances. With this base, refined with peach and quince juice, an herbal extract, blossoms and spices, Jörg Geiger recreates a drink that is reminiscent of a fruity white wine.

The 32 Grad Riesling, Apple, Herbs has an aroma of light grape, local pome fruits such as apple, pear and quince, and white blossoms. The taste is delicately fruity, elegant, refreshing and herbaceous. Thus, the non-alcoholic 32 Grad Riesling, Apple, Herbs is a good food companion for fine salads, cream cheese, shellfish, crustaceans and light fish dishes, and a dry alternative to white wine without alcohol. Recommended drinking temperature 7-9 degrees.

non-alcoholic food companion – Jörg Geiger's "Grad-Wanderung" (degree journey)

GRAD°WANDERUNG (degree journey) is the name of Manufaktur Jörg Geiger's new non-alcoholic line, which offers four dry, dealcoholized wines refined with herbs, blossoms and spices. By refining with juices and herbal extracts, a significantly more complex and diverse drink is created than a purely dealcoholized drink, a wine without alcohol, could be.

After all, Manufaktur Jörg Geiger has 20 years of experience in the non-alcoholic sector, and since 2021 also its own dealcoholization plant, and works exclusively with natural raw materials and products. For example, the still food companions are neither artificially sweetened nor deacidified.

First, the Riesling wine is gently dealcoholized. Gentle means removing the alcohol with minimal temperature addition but maximum time. How low the temperature can be depends on the alcohol content of the wine used. The Riesling is dealcoholized at 32°C, the Rosé at 33°C, the Sauvignon Blanc at 35°C and the Grenache at 36°C. The temperature was therefore the inspiration for the name of this new non-alcoholic line.

Why is GRAD°WANDERUNG not a "proper" non-alcoholic wine?

Despite all efforts, Jörg Geiger believes that pure dealcoholized wine does not do justice to high-quality equipment and the associated expectations. Although natural wine aromas are recaptured through aroma recovery, the part bound to the alcohol is involuntarily lost, leading to a sensory change. Non-alcoholic wine was therefore always associated with sacrifice, not only of alcohol, and did not become an equivalent to wine with alcohol. That is why inventor and affineur Jörg Geiger sees dealcoholized wine merely as a welcome basis for creating new non-alcoholic beverages with less sweetness and new diversity of fermentation aromas. With over 20 years of experience in "rethinking non-alcoholic", based on the use of around 200 dry spices, 70 freshly harvested herbs, 20 blossoms and self-produced hydrolates, he succeeds in creating unique still, dry food companions without alcohol. Since Jörg Geiger not only removes alcohol but also adds juice, herbs, blossoms and spices, the sugar-reduced, non-alcoholic food companion may not be called non-alcoholic wine according to legislation, but rather a dealcoholized, aromatized, wine-containing beverage. The alcohol content is usually 0.3% and always remains below the legal definition of "non-alcoholic" of <0.5 vol%. That is why Manufaktur Geiger uses the international designation "Alcohol removed".
