The Manufaktur Jörg Geiger 37° Pinot Noir Raspberry Cherry is a de-alcoholized red wine, skillfully refined with fruit juice from cherry, strawberry, raspberry, grape, blackberry, and currant, along with herbs, flowers, and spices, making it a dry, alcohol-free food companion.

The combination of de-alcoholized Pinot Noir with cherry and grape juice, as well as currant and blackberry juice, results in a dominant red fruit bouquet. With this base, further refined with herbs, flowers, and spices, Jörg Geiger creates a beverage that evokes a medium-bodied red wine.

How the 37° Pinot Noir tastes

The 37° Pinot Noir Raspberry Cherry has a distinctive aroma of red grapes, juicy red fruits, and ripe berries. On the palate, it is dry and delicate, complex with fine tannins. Thus, the alcohol-free 37-degree Pinot Noir is a good food companion for fine meat dishes, dishes with mushrooms and cream sauce, as well as aged cheese, and a dry alternative to red wine without alcohol. Recommended drinking temperature 14-16 degrees.

GRAD°WANDERUNG (Degree Hike) is the name of Manufaktur Jörg Geiger's new alcohol-free line, offering four dry, de-alcoholized wines refined with herbs, flowers, and spices. The refinement with juices and herbal extracts creates a significantly more complex and diverse beverage than a purely de-alcoholized drink, a wine without alcohol, could be.

Finally, Manufaktur Jörg Geiger has 20 years of experience in the alcohol-free sector, and since 2021, its own de-alcoholization plant. It works exclusively with natural raw materials and products. For example, the still food companions are neither artificially sweetened nor de-acidified.

First, the red wine is gently de-alcoholized. Gentle means removing the alcohol with minimal temperature application but maximum time. How low the temperature can be depends on the alcohol content of the wine used. The Riesling is de-alcoholized at 32°C, the Rosé at 33°C, the Sauvignon Blanc at 35°C, the Grenache at 36°C, and the Pinot Noir at 37°C. The temperature was therefore the inspiration for the naming of this new alcohol-free line.

Why GRAD°WANDERUNG is not an alcohol-free wine?

Despite all efforts, Jörg Geiger believes that pure de-alcoholized wine does not live up to a high-quality presentation and the associated expectations. Although natural wine aromas are recaptured through aroma recovery, the part bound to alcohol is involuntarily lost, leading to a sensory change. Alcohol-free wine was thus always associated with sacrifice, not only of alcohol, and did not become an equivalent counterpart to wine with alcohol. Therefore, inventor and affineur Jörg Geiger considers de-alcoholized wine merely a welcome basis for creating new alcohol-free options with less sweetness and a new variety of fermentation aromas. With over 20 years of experience in "rethinking alcohol-free," based on the use of around 200 dry spices, 70 freshly harvested herbs, 20 flowers, and self-produced hydrolats, he succeeds in creating unique still, dry food companions without alcohol. Since Jörg Geiger not only removes alcohol but also adds juice, herbs, flowers, and spices, the reduced-sugar, alcohol-free food companion may not legally be called alcohol-free wine, but rather a de-alcoholized, flavored, wine-based beverage. The alcohol content is usually 0.3% and always remains below the legal definition of "alcohol-free" of <0.5 vol%. Therefore, Manufaktur Geiger uses the international designation "Alcohol removed."
