White Burgundy 2025, lean and versatile from the Pfalz

The Philipp Kuhn White Burgundy 2025 is a dry VDP.Gutswein from the Pfalz, organic quality. Lean, lively, with fine Burgundy fruit. Not a loud wine, but a quiet all-rounder for everyday.

Philipp Kuhn White Burgundy 2025 is a modern, lean white wine from the Pfalz, dry and organic. The Burgundy grapes grow around Laumersheim, Dirmstein and Großkarlbach. Let yourself be captivated by its quiet charm, which suits almost any table without being intrusive.

Pear, melon, a hint of walnut

In the glass, the White Burgundy is bright and clear. The nose offers aromas of fresh pears, dried apple, sweet melon, and delicate walnut.

On the palate, it is lively, lean, balanced, with fresh acidity that is finely buffered by some residual sugar. With 3.4 g/l residual sugar and 6.6 g/l acidity, it remains dry and harmonious. The restrained bouquet makes it an uncomplicated companion.

Fresh, fine, effortless, that's how the White Burgundy drinks throughout the week. It never imposes itself and is precisely for this reason so reliable when you are looking for a wine that goes with food yet doesn't steal the show.

We recommend it with fish and vegetables

The White Burgundy likes delicate, not too strong cuisine. It particularly enjoys accompanying fish and white meat, vegetarian dishes and mild vegetable cuisine.

We recommend it at 10 to 12 degrees with pan-fried fish, veal or stuffed vegetables from the oven. It doesn't like too much acidity and spiciness in food, preferring to hold back. If you want to explore more flavors from the region, try the crisp Sauvignon Blanc from the Pfalz or the creamy Pinot Gris from loess soil.

Whole cluster pressing around Laumersheim

The Burgundy grapes grow on the limestone and loess-loam soils around Laumersheim, Dirmstein, and Großkarlbach. These soils give the wine its invigorating freshness and fine minerality. The limestone provides tension, the loess-loam provides the soft, rounded core.

Philipp Kuhn harvests the grapes by hand at the right time. After whole cluster pressing, the must ferments slowly over several weeks and remains on the lees until bottling, aged in stainless steel tanks. The longer the yeast contact, the rounder the body. "It has to be dry," Philipp says of all his wines.

He bottled his first vintage in 1992; today, the winery cultivates around 40 hectares and has been a member of the VDP since 2008. At 12.0% vol, the White Burgundy is a lean VDP.Gutswein for every day. More from the Pfalz can be found among Philipp Kuhn's other wines.

Enjoyment Tip

At 10 to 12 degrees, the White Burgundy shows its delicate fruit at its best. It is vegan and organically grown, a reliable companion for the whole week. It tastes best freshly opened; it will keep well in the refrigerator for one to two days. Lean, fresh, uncomplicated.
