Vinschger Apricot Fruit Spread – Limited Edition 03 by Alpe Pragas
Alpe Pragas uses juicy Vinschger apricots to create a very special apricot fruit spread with a wonderful aroma and low sugar content. For Limited Edition 03, only Vinschger apricots, a regionally typical variety from Wachau, are used. Alpe Pragas sources the Vinschger apricots for this fruit spread from Robert Vent in Schlanders. He is an incredibly diligent farmer, known beyond the borders of South Tyrol.
The Vinschger apricot is particularly intense and fruity, ideal for one of the best fruit spreads ever. Cooked with just a little sugar and apple pectin, the pure Vinschger apricot variety tastes great in yogurt, on warm waffles, or with Topfenknödel (quark dumplings).
In the Dolomites, the Gruber family has been cultivating berries at an altitude of approximately 1250 m since 1994. In this alpine mountain climate, the fruits ripen longer, thus developing a particularly intense aroma. Great importance is placed on cultivating the fruits as naturally as possible: the seedlings are planted by hand, the fields are weeded several times until harvest, and irrigated with river and spring water from the Dolomites.
The Vinschger Apricot fruit spread in a 220g jar has a fruit content of 75%, gelled only with natural apple pectin.

Alpe Pragas – Quality from the Dolomites
Alpe Pragas is a gourmet manufacturer that produces the finest fruit products in the heart of the Dolomites. Since 2002, Alpe Pragas fruit spreads have been a permanent part of our assortment, and from the beginning, we have been enthusiastic about the special quality, intense fruit flavor, and unique consistency of Stefan Gruber's fruit spreads, jams, and preserves. What is produced in the Alpe Pragas gourmet manufactory brings a smile to every gourmand.
The fruits are harvested ripe by hand, pitted, cleaned, and cut, then gently cooked without additives or preservatives. This preserves vitamins and the natural color of the fruits, but above all, a wonderfully intense fruit flavor.
Stefan Gruber, founder of Alpe Pragas, says about the apricot: "The apricot is the star of summer. It occurs in nature in many different varieties, and each of them has its own origin. At Alpe Pragas, we process the Vinschger apricot, which, as its name suggests, is grown in the Vinschgau valley. The colors of this fruit range from yellow to orange, with fiery red nuances. Apricots are not only beautiful to look at, they are also true flavor carriers. Soft, sweet, with a particularly intense aroma. A harmony of sweet yet somewhat sour taste."
