Gamlitz Pinot Blanc – Village Wine from Sattlerhof
The Sattlerhof Gamlitz Pinot Blanc 2024 is an elegant, dry white wine from Styria in Austria – a Südsteiermark DAC village wine.
From the very beginning, the Gamlitz Pinot Blanc is highly elegant, juicy and equipped with good acidity. Here too, it is the mixture of "vegetal" and fruity aromas that makes this wine so exciting. On the nose, sweet almonds and dried pear join yellow apple slices and herbaceous chervil. Filigree, slender and with a salty minerality, this is how the Sattlerhof Gamlitz Pinot Blanc pleases, making it a good accompaniment to roasted, light meat or poultry, asparagus, snap peas and pumpkin.
Sattlerhof – Wine Production
Steep vineyards, unpredictable weather and diverse soils are the characteristics of the South Styrian wine region. The vines for this Gamlitz Morillon village wine from Sattlerhof grow around the three-thousand-soul community of Gamlitz. On the steep slopes at 300–450 m above sea level, there are 20-50 year old vine plantations. The soil spectrum ranges from maritime sands to shell limestone.
The ripe Pinot grapes from their own vineyards, which are cultivated sustainably and biodynamically, are selectively hand-picked. After a short maceration period, the must is fermented without pumping in the impressive, newly built cellar in stainless steel tanks. Maturation also takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and fruitiness. A wine characterized by its terroir, quartz sand and the cool microclimate around Gamlitz in Southern Styria, Austria.
