Sattlerhof – Eichberg Muskateller – [ORGANIC]
The Sattlerhof Eichberg Muskateller 2020 is a fragrant, dry white wine from Styria in Austria – a Südsteiermark DAC regional wine.
The Eichberg Muskateller is juicy, yet cool and incredibly precise. Here too, it is the blend of vegetative and fruity aromas that makes this wine so exciting. On the nose, zesty lime, star fruit, and fragrant lemon verbena are joined by marshmallow leaves on the finish. On the palate, it is mineral, cool, and refined with a wonderful play of acidity. The Muskateller Eichberg is uplifting as an aperitif and is a good companion to not-too-spicy Asian dishes and baked vegetables.
Sattlerhof – Wine Production
Steep vineyards, unpredictable weather, and diverse soils are the characteristics of the Südsteiermark wine region. The vines for this Gamlitz Morillon regional wine from Sattlerhof grow around the municipality of Eichberg. In the steep slopes at 450–550 m above sea level, there are 15-30-year-old vines. The soil spectrum ranges from barren pebbles to sand.
The fully ripe grapes from our own vineyards in Eichberg, which are cultivated sustainably and biodynamically, are selectively hand-picked. After a short maceration period, the must is fermented without pumping in the impressive, newly built cellar in stainless steel tanks. Maturation also takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and fruitiness. A wine characterized by its terroir, its soils, and the cool microclimate around Eichberg in Südsteiermark, Austria.
