Sattlerhof – Gamlitz Pinot Blanc – [ORGANIC]
The Sattlerhof Gamlitz Pinot Blanc 2022 is an elegant, dry white wine from Styria in Austria – a Südsteiermark DAC regional wine.
From the very beginning, the Gamlitz Pinot Blanc is highly elegant, juicy, and with good acidity. Here too, it's the blend of "vegetable-like" and fruity aromas that makes this wine so exciting. On the nose, sweet almonds and dried pear join yellow apple slices and herbaceous chervil. Filigree, lean, and with a salty minerality, the Sattlerhof Gamlitz Pinot Blanc is a pleasure to drink and a good companion to pan-fried, light meat or poultry, asparagus, snap peas, and pumpkin.
Sattlerhof – Wine Production
Steep vineyards, unpredictable weather, and diverse soils are the characteristics of the Südsteiermark wine region. The vines for this Gamlitz Morillon regional wine from Sattlerhof grow around the three-thousand-soul community of Gamlitz. In the steep slopes at 350–450 m above sea level, there are 15-35 year old vines. The soil spectrum ranges from maritime sands to shell limestone.
The ripe Burgundy grapes from their own vineyards, which are sustainably and biodynamically farmed, are selectively hand-picked. After a short maceration period, the must is fermented without pumps in the impressive, newly built cellar in stainless steel tanks. Maturation also takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and fruitiness. A wine shaped by its terroir, quartz sand, and the cool microclimate around Gamlitz in Südsteiermark, Austria.
