Sattlerhof – Sauvignon Blanc Südsteiermark DAC – [ORGANIC]
The Sattlerhof Sauvignon Blanc Südsteiermark DAC 2024 is a fragrant, dry white wine classic from Styria, Austria.
The Sauvignon Blanc is invigorating, lively, with Styrian lightness and fascinating aromatic freshness. Cool and easy-drinking. Tomato vines and green asparagus, yellow exotic fruits, pear, quince, and a fine herbaceous nose, dill. On the palate, a lot of spice and pepperiness. Crystal clear and incredibly drinkable. A Sauvignon Blanc for drinking solo, it also accompanies delicate spring dishes or summer appetizers.
Sattlerhof – Winemaking
Steep vineyards, unpredictable weather, and diverse soils are the characteristics of the South Styrian wine region. The vines for this South Styrian Sauvignon Blanc from Sattlerhof grow in the municipalities of Gamlitz and Eichberg. On steep slopes at 350–450 m above sea level, 15-35 year old vineyards are located on sand, gravel, and shell limestone.
The fully ripe grapes from our own vineyards in South Styria, which are sustainably and biodynamically cultivated, are selectively hand-picked. After a short maceration period, the must is fermented without pumps in the impressive, newly built cellar in stainless steel tanks. Maturation also takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and fruitiness. A wine characterized by its terroir, the soils, and the cool microclimate in South Styria, Austria.
The Sauvignon Blanc Südsteiermark is a classic regional wine from the South Styria region. The appealing modern label was designed by graphic designer and daughter Manuela Sattler.
