Sauvignon Blanc Gamlitz from Sattlerhof Winery in Styria
The Sattlerhof Sauvignon Blanc Gamlitz 2024 is a dry white wine from Styria in Austria - a Südsteiermark DAC regional wine.
Juicy and powerful from the start, characterized by deep, smoky spice. Here, too, it's the blend of "vegetal" and fruity aromas that makes this wine so exciting. On the nose, red currants, green apples, fresh fennel and green bell peppers, with a hint of white pepper and pleasant herbal spice. Powerful on the palate, fine pear fruit, complex, harmonious and very long in the finish with wonderful balance. The Sattlerhof Sauvignon Blanc Gamlitz 2024 harmoniously accompanies fish, pasta, light risotto and vegetables such as asparagus, fennel, and chicory.
Sattlerhof – Winemaking
Steep vineyards, unpredictable weather, and diverse soils are the characteristics of the South Styrian wine region. The vines for this Gamlitz Sauvignon Blanc regional wine from Sattlerhof grow around the three-thousand-soul community of Gamlitz. In the steep slopes at 350-450 m above sea level, there are 15-35 year old vines on crystalline quartz sands with mica.
The fully ripe grapes from our own vineyards, which are managed sustainably and biodynamically, are selectively hand-picked. After several hours of maceration, the must is fermented without pumps in the impressive, newly built cellar in stainless steel tanks. Maturation also takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and fruitiness. A wine characterized by its terroir, quartz sand and the cool microclimate around Gamlitz in Southern Styria, Austria.
