Alpe Pragas – Wild Berry Organic Fruit Spread with 65% Fruit Content
Alpe Pragas organic wild berry fruit spread is made from blueberries, raspberries, red and black currants. Most of the wild berries come from our own controlled organic cultivation in the Prags Valley. In the alpine mountain climate of the Dolomites, the fruits ripen more slowly, giving them more time to develop their distinct aroma. Great importance is placed on cultivating the fruits as naturally as possible: the seedlings are planted by hand, the fields are weeded several times until harvest, and irrigated with river and spring water from the Dolomites. Sweetened only with agave syrup, the organic wild berries are cooked down with a little lemon juice and apple pectin to create a fruit spread with a fruit content of 65%. Simply delicious!
Alpe Pragas also makes no compromises with its organic fruit spreads, consciously avoiding artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. The organic fruit spreads are vegan and gluten-free, and of course, organically certified.
Fruit Sweet – No Added Sugar
The sap, already extracted by the Aztecs, is experiencing a renaissance today in times when people are more consciously dealing with their diet and sugar consumption. Vegans, who do not want to use honey as a sugar alternative, certainly play a part in the fact that agave syrup, originating from Mexico, has become a plant-based alternative to honey in Europe.
Similar to maple syrup, the agave, a fleshy plant resembling cacti but botanically belonging to the asparagus family, is cut, and the emerging sap is collected. Heating produces the thick, sugar-rich agave syrup or agave nectar. Since it has a higher sweetening power than white industrial sugar, and also fewer calories, 100g of sugar can be replaced by 75g of agave nectar. Due to its almost clear color and relatively neutral taste, it hardly alters the Alpe Pragas nectar. The agave syrup used by Alpe Pragas is a natural product from organic farming.
Jam – Marmalade – Fruit Spread
According to the European Jam Directive of 2003, marmalade, jam, and fruit spread differ as follows: for marmalade, the fruit content must consist exclusively of citrus fruits (including peel, juice, puree) and be at least 20%. Jam can be made from stone fruit, berries, or other fruits (also from concentrate or puree), with a fruit content of at least 35% (depending on the type of fruit); for extra jam, a fruit content of at least 45% is stipulated. The fruit content of Alpe Pragas organic fruit spreads is significantly higher at 65%. Quality you can taste.
